Hospice Operations & Administration

As you can imagine we have a number of people who fill these roles from running the hospice under the advice of the Board to answering the phones, media, and licking the stamps...

Heading this very important group of people is John Bartsch our new Executive Officer...

John Bartsch, Executive Officer

Having lived my life in Queensland and holidaying as a child on the Sunshine Coast, I decided to move to the Sunshine Coast eight years ago.   Having seen the growth of the region over this time I can see the need for the Sunshine Coast Community Hospice’s facility of the Katie Rose Cottage for the terminally ill.

As Executive Officer I see my role as a coordinator of the various facets of our organisation to move forward as united group with a common goal and realising that “Every Moment Matters” for the terminally ill.  I hold a Bachelor of Business in Human Resource Management & Marketing and I am currently studying for my Masters of Professional Accounting.

I have previously held senior management roles within small to medium enterprises and have been responsible for revenues up to $6million.

Hospice – The word hospice comes from the Latin hospitium, which originally meant the warm feeling between host and guest and later the place where this feeling was experienced – a guest house.
