Our Mission and Vision
Our Mission is to provide specialised hospice care in partnership with the community, for people of all ages who are dying. Our Vision is to provide home-like hospice care for people who are dying and their family and friends.This holistic care is based on a team approach, best clinical practice and excellence through continuing research and education.
Core Values

- To work in close partnership with all other palliative care services on the Sunshine Coast.

Goals
- To maintain and improve quality service provision.
- To maintain and develop a strong financial base for the Sunshine Coast Community Hospice.
- To provide sufficient funds to build the hospice and for recurrent funding.
- To develop awareness and improve the hospice service for all the community from Cooloola down to Caloundra
- To increase hospice beds to either the initial hospice, or by establishing further small units under the established charity status.
- To develop strong partnerships with Queensland Health, Private Health Fund Organisations, Hospice or Home Nursing Services, Affairs and all other palliative care providers.
- To engage and foster the services of staff and volunteers.
- To provide an education centre. This is to be a learning centre of excellence. We will facilitate education in palliative care for those who need it. ie. Doctors, Medical Students, qualified Nurses, nursing graduates, carers etc.
- To offer bereavement support to clients, families and friends.
- To ensure service excellence through the development and implementation of professional policies and procedures.
- To maintain a professional charity status. To reassess validity of purpose, mission, vision, goals and strategies at six month intervals.
- To establish a model of care for palliative patients and their families which is both innovative and cost effective.
